Minimum Criteria for Graduate Faculty Appointment
As passed by Graduate Council:
Research Faculty
Needed to direct graduate student research projects.
- Terminal degree in discipline (Ph.D. or equivalent)
- Minimum of three scholarly publications (or equivalent) in hand
- Affirmative vote of approval by a majority of the full-time, ranked faculty within the nominating department.
Clinical Faculty
Needed to direct the clinical training of graduate students
- Graduate/Professional degree in discipline
- Professional certification (whenever available)
- At least two years clinical experience
- Affirmative vote of approval by a majority of the full-time, ranked faculty within the nominating department.
Performance Faculty
Needed to direct graduate artistic/ performance projects
- Terminal degree in discipline
- Established history of performance (art shows, concerts, theatre productions,etc.)
- Affirmative vote of approval by a majority of the full-time, ranked faculty within the nominating department.
