Graduate Student Orientation is an invaluable resource, and all new graduate students are encouraged to attend. The orientation takes place the Monday before fall semester classes begin, and there is another orientation scheduled each year prior to the spring semester. For more information, visit http://graduate.missouristate.edu/Orientations.htm.
Contact information for your advisor can be found on the Admission Recommendation form you received with your acceptance letter. Your advisor will be able to answer any questions that you have regarding the program, as well as any conditions that may have been placed on your admission. Your advisor will be able to provide you with information on registration and will need to release you to register for classes.
The Graduate Catalog is essentially the "Graduate Student Manual". All graduate students are expected to become familiar with the University and Graduate College policies and procedures, as well as the University's academic regulations. These policies and procedures describe the rights and responsibilities of graduate students at Missouri State University. Also be aware that specific departments and graduate programs may have additional policies, procedures, and requirements.
Included in your admission letter is a 9-digit student number, also known as your “M-Number.” This number is needed for class registration, financial aid needs and any other business conducted with the University; therefore it is important that you continue to remember this number. You will also need your “M-Number” to create your user ID and password that can be used to access your information on our “My Missouri State” system.
Using your M-Number, go to https://my.missouristate.edu and follow the link to create your user ID and password.
• Contact your advisor, who will release you to register
• Log in to http://my.missouristate.edu

You may also register in person at the Office of the Registrar, Carrington Hall 320. To register in person, you must have a Course Enrollment Form completed and signed by your advisor.
If you have not provided the Graduate College with a final official transcript which indicates your completed bachelor’s degree, please do so as soon as possible. Your admission will be considered pending, and possible encumbrances may hinder you from registering for classes, until this is done.
* Former Missouri State students are exempt from this requirement.
