Specific Information for Faculty

What is the Forum?

The Interdisciplinary Forum allows graduate students to share the research and creative work they have completed in their graduate programs with students and faculty from across campus and from area colleges and universities. The Forum includes both oral and poster presentations.

What should I tell my Graduate Students?

You can encourage your graduate students to participate in the Forum. It is an excellent opportunity for them to gain presentation experience. Their participation will also showcase the accomplishments of graduate students in your program.

You might also encourage students not participating to attend the Forum and support their peers. The Forum gives them a unique opportunity to learn about the research and creative works of their fellow graduate students from across campus.

Encourage your graduate students to volunteer as a projectionist or timer, or to help set-up or tear-down for the event. For more information, click HERE.

What should I tell my Undergraduate Students?

You can encourage your undergraduate students to attend the Forum. It will give them a better idea of what graduate school and research is all about. The Forum is also a great way to show your undergraduates the "real life" or practical applications of research methodology and presentation skills.

The Forum is one of the few showcases of graduate student work on campus. Undergraduates should take this opportunity to interact with graduate students. You might include assignments involving the Forum in your class plans for the semester.

Encourage your undergraduate students to volunteer as a projectionist or timer, or to help set-up or tear-down for the event. For more information, click HERE.
