A non-degree-granting certificate designed to provide students aspiring toward professional music performing career opportunities to study and perform solo, chamber and large-ensemble literature without some of the academic course requirements of a master's degree.
This certificate is available through audition to all persons with an undergraduate degree in music in which they earned a GPA of at least 2.75. English language proficiency as determined by International Services, or successful completion of the ELI is required.
Students who wish to pursue a certificate after earning a Master of Music degree must do so with no overlap of course content.
Students who complete some or all of the certificate with a grade of B- or better in each course may be admitted to the Master of Music program after going through the full application process. The certificate credits taken will count toward the requirements for the MM degree.
