Submitting test scores

Am I required to submit GRE and GMAT test scores?

GRE or GMAT scores are not required by the Graduate College. However, about half of all graduate programs do require GRE or GMAT scores. Review your graduate program's admission requirements to verify, or verify your program specific requirements within the online application.

You may submit your application prior to taking these tests, however, it may not be reviewed until the application is complete, which includes any required test scores.

If you took your GRE and ordered the scores be sent to Missouri State prior to applying, they will be electronically loaded and matched to your application when submitted.

Alternative tests might be considered but this varies from program to program. Review your graduate program's admission requirements to determine if alternative tests are accepted.

The GRE and GMAT may be waived by the graduate program director of the program to which you have applied. In cases where the GRE is required by the Graduate College because the applicant does not meet the minimum Graduate College admission requirements, the GRE cannot be waived.

What are the minimal scores needed for admission?

This varies from program to program. Review your graduate program's admission requirements to verify.

The GRE is valid for 5 years and no longer available after 5 years. The GMAT is valid for five years and no longer available after 10 years. Whether your graduate program wishes to accept older scores will be determined by the graduate program director.
