Submitting Transcripts

In preparation for applying for graduate studies, request one official transcript from each college or university through which you’ve earned or will earn credit.

What is an official transcript?

  • Official hard-copy transcripts must arrive directly to graduate admissions in the original sealed, stamped, official envelopes from your previous school. All seals and security features must be intact for a transcript to be accepted as official.
  • Electronic transcripts are considered official when received through a secure site such as National Student Clearinghouse or Parchment from your previous school.
  • Transcripts sent by students or via fax are NOT considered official.

Official transcripts can be mailed to the following:

Graduate Admissions
Missouri State University
901 South National Avenue
Springfield, MO 65897

A final, official transcript sealed and embossed in the institutions envelope may also be delivered in person to:

Graduate College
Carrington Hall, Room 306
Missouri State University
901 South National Avenue
Springfield, MO 65897

Please note that the Graduate College will authenticate the document upon arrival. The Graduate College does not evaluate transcripts before your application is submitted. The evaluation is part of the review process prior to admission.

Are unofficial transcripts accepted?

You can upload an unofficial copy of your transcripts in the academic history section of your GradCAS application. Once admitted, graduate admissions will contact you by email if final, official transcripts are needed.

How to submit a transcript as a current or past Missouri State undergraduate student

If you're current student admitted to graduate studies, graduate admissions will access your final, official transcript displaying the conferral of your undergraduate degree. In other words, we will pull the transcripts from the CAS system into our own system and accept those as official.

If you're a current student who transferred from another institution, and have sent your transcripts previously, you do not need to request to have them sent again. Before submitting your application, verify if the transfer credit appears on your unofficial transcript in My Missouri State.

If you attended Missouri State years ago, prior to submitting your application contact graduate admissions to confirm your transcripts are still on file.

How to submit a transcript as a new Missouri State graduate student

If you are a new Missouri State student, submission of official transcripts is crucial. Your admission to Missouri State will be considered pending and registration of classes to a future term may be delayed until the final, official transcript is received showing your bachelor’s degree conferred.
