Thesis Blackboard Course
Students conducting a thesis and faculty who serve on thesis committee should enroll in the Blackboard course titled "Thesis - Graduate College." This course contains all of the necessary steps and requiremetns needed to complete a thesis and submit it to the Graduate College for final approval. Please review the self-enroll steps linked below.
Your thesis is the culmination of your graduate program. From picking a subject and developing a study to analyzing the data and writing the results, the thesis process includes more than just writing a paper. Consult with your committee chair (i.e., your thesis advisor) to develop a timeline that best suits your project’s needs. Be sure to enroll in the Thesis Blackboard course early in the process!
Fall 2023 Thesis Orientations
The Graduate College is hosting two Zoom orientations for the thesis submission and review process. All thesis students and advisors are encouraged to attend one of these two sessions.

If you are not able to attend one of these two sessions, we will be recording the orientation and providing an on-demand video in the days following the first orientation.
Thesis course to Non-Thesis course:
Occasionally, students need to change their culminating research experience from a thesis to a non-thesis project/seminar course. In such cases, the academic unit should request the change by completing the Thesis Course to Non-Thesis Course Form.
Fall 2023 Deadlines for Thesis Submission
November 20 - - deadline for FA23 thesis - submit final thesis to the Graduate College using the Thesis Blackboard site. All assignments and quizzes must be complete.
January 12 - final submission of all requirements for FA23 thesis.
Spring 2024 Deadlines for Thesis Submission
April 15 - - deadline for SP24 thesis - submit final thesis to the Graduate College using the Thesis Blackboard site. All assignments and quizzes must be complete.
May 31 - final submission of all requirements for SP24 thesis.
Summer 2024 Deadlines for Thesis Submission
July 15 - - deadline for SU24 thesis - submit final thesis to the Graduate College using the Thesis Blackboard site. All assignments and quizzes must be complete.
August 23 - final submission of all requirements for SU24 thesis.
