Check-in details and tips for oral presentations

Students presenting their research orally are expected to check in at their assigned rooms at the following times:

Session I 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. (set up at 8:30 a.m.)
Session II 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (set up at 8:30 a.m.)

Upon check-in, you will load your presentation onto the computer from a USB drive you brought (plan to use a USB drive, most of the laptops available will not have internet access). The room monitor will also verify the pronunciation of names and titles.

You will have 12 minutes for your presentation followed by three minutes for questions. The room monitor will hold up a card at the 11 minute mark and at the 12 minute mark.

Set-up details and tips for poster presentations

Your poster should use lettering and photos that can be seen from a distance and organized in an easy-to-read manner. Posters will be placed on display boards about four feet tall by six feet wide.

The PSU Ballroom will be open for poster set-up from 7:30-8 a.m. Posters must be hung by 8 a.m. and remain on display until 12 p.m. and have to be taken down by 2 p.m. Any posters not retrieved by 2 p.m., will be recycled.

For set-up, you will need the following:

  • Presentation materials

  • Your abstract

Presenters are expected to be present at their posters during these designated times:
