New Student Checklist

Congratulations on your admission to graduate school at Missouri State University. Use this checklist as to guide to help ensure a seamless transition.

Verify your final, official transcript showing the conferral of your bachelor's degree is on file with the Graduate College.

Attend our optional New Graduate Student Orientation before each fall and spring semester. If you are a new graduate teaching assistant, attend our required New Teaching Assistant Training.

Familiarize yourself with policies and procedures as well as academic regulations. If needed, contact your academic unit and program for additional requirements.

Create your BearPass login to access My Missouri State portal. Set this up using your BearPass number, the nine-digit student number provided in your admission letter.

Find your advisor's contact info in the My Missouri State portal under My Student Records > Advising Notes. Your advisor will offer support and authorize your registration for the upcoming semester.

Get your advisor's release, log into My Missouri State, and follow the instructions under the registration card to get registered.

Get your BearPass card during Graduate Student Orientation or visit the BearPass Card office, Plaster Student Union 128. It's your card for accessing the library, bookstore, athletics events, dining centers, vending machines, and more.
Purchase your parking permit online or visit the office of parking administration.
